Squiggles in Grade 1

Students in first grade turned their squiggles into all sorts of things, just like the little girl in Carole Lexa Schaefer's The Squiggle.

Grade 1 rides roller coasers

Grade one made different kinds of lines and transformed paper strips into miniature roller coasters.

Cave drawing with grade 2

Recently, grade 2 has been looking to the cave drawings of prehistoric humans for inspiration. Just like the humans from long ago, students created pictures of animals using dry pigments. For more information about cave drawings, check out this site There are lots of fun facts and games to play.

We are already off to a great start in the art room this year. So far we have been studying artists like Frank Stella, Bridget Riley, and M. C. Escher. We have also been learning about cave drawing and using lines.
