Origami in Kindergarten


Kindergarten created Origami dogs after reading Andrew Clements' Dogku

Printmaking Club

For 6 Wednesdays after school, fourth and fifth graders created their own original prints. First, students choose a subjects to draw. Next, they carved their plates. Then, they inked and printed their plates. At the end of club, students traded prints and created a book to hold them. More prints to come!

Under the Sea

Kindergarten explored the under sea world through books and film. Students then created tempera paintings of underwater creatures.

Illuminating Letters

Students in grade 4 created illuminated letters with a modern twist. They designed a letter page with objects that begin with their chosen letter. Students then created a center of interest using a variety of different methods. They finished up their letters by adding metallic crayon and watercolor.

Dressed in Plaid

First graders explored horizontal and vertical lines to make their own plaid patterns. Students then used their plaid to make clothes so they could be dressed for a certain kind of weather.
