More Molas

Third grade students did such a great job, I wanted to share some more.  


Third Grade Molas

Kuna women from Panama create multicolored nature inspired panels called molas.  Third grade students created cut paper designs inspired by the molas of the Kuna tribe.

Second grade snakes

Inspired by the Huichol Indians of Mexico and their flood myth, second grade students painted patterned snakes. 

Kindergarten Monsters

After reading the book Lines that Wiggle by Candace Whitman, students painted monsters and gave a bowl of line spaghetti to eat.

Sunderland at the Gallery

Featured at the CalvArt Gallery for the month of October is a group of fifth and first grade students.  Fifth grade students created linear machine drawings based on Paul Klee's Twittering Machine.  First grade students created hummingbirds using Keith Baker's Little Green for inspiration.

Janet Fish Drawings

Inspired by the art of Janet Fish, third grade students used many different kinds of lines to create a picture of a place setting and food.
